FAQs

i’m unsure about getting more involved

We are a friendly group of ordinary people – please feel free to drop us a line or come along to one of our meetings to get to know us and ask any questions you might have.

We understand that everyone has other commitments and responsibilities and you are free to come to meetings, events or actions as often, or as little, as you like.

Do i have to get arrested?

No! We thrive on diversity. XR local groups are made up from people of all ages and from all walks of life and we need people in lots of different roles, as well as those who are reluctant law breakers: from trainers and speakers, to helping with social media or admin and looking after wellbeing.

We are strictly non-violent and abide by the Extinction Rebellion Principles and Values.

how often do you meet?

At the moment we are meeting in Dorking fortnightly and alternate between in-person meetings and Zoom.

However, we work very closely with XR Reigate & Redhill and when there is no Wednesday meeting, some of us go over to the Monday Climate Cafe in Reigate (7.30-9pm at The Yard, Reigate Station, Holmesdale Road).

Does xr dorking take part in national actions?

Yes, many of us do and we usually arrange to go up as a group, or meet up with people from other local groups once we’re there.

There are also people who prefer to only take part in local events and that is fine.
